Autumn in Sweden
This weekend we visit our good friends in their house in Sweden. We left Copenhagen at 4 pm and arrived 2.5 hours later at our destination in the middle of the Swedish countryside. We love visiting our friends here, where its all about good food, sustainable living, outdoors, and lots of laughter and good conversations.
Saturday turned out to be beautiful with a clear sunny sky, and we decided to head out in search of mushrooms for our pizza dinner. We ended up hiking 13 kilometers (8 miles), do to local hunters who were hunting moose in the area.
At first we didn’t find any mushrooms, instead, we enjoyed all the autumn colors. Along our way, we came upon goats, horses, and cows. When we were almost back to the house, we took a small detour to look for mushrooms, and luck struck.
Heating up the big pizza oven takes both time and 1 wood barrel of firewood. It’s a little overkill for a couple of pizza’s, so when they were eaten, it was time to bake bread. The sourdough loaves were ready for the oven, and I’m telling you, bread baked under a Swedish starry sky, is phenomenal.
